2018 is off to an excellent start with a good old session at Colombian with SE locals FYI Chris & Sean OD...Now we look further afield to Manchester & Vancouver for a retro futuristic spectacular at new Peckham venue Ghost Notes.
LNS (Wania / Freakout Cult)
Hailing from Vancouver, LNS makes her RS debut. Fresh from a tryptic of banging machine funk 12” cuts in collaboration with DJ Sotofett last year, her heads down approach has been keeping us all strafe-jumping til the early hours. Having made her production debut on none-other than Jayda G & DJ Fettburger’s Freakout Cult, with a stunning EP ‘Heliacal Rising’ showcasing a sublime style sitting between Detroit Electro, Bleepish UK IDM & 90s video game soundtracks, she quickly made herself known across the ocean. With 2 amazing Trushmixes, seamlessly blending electro, techno and IDM, her cerebrally tough selection is akin to the second-life lovechild of early Aphex Twin and Frankie Bones.
Il Bosco (Red Laser Records)
Red Laser Records master-in-chief, mainframe hacker, Ruf Kutz in-house wine-buff and Manchester living legend Il Bosco brings a bag or two of records from his fine collection. Il Bosco spins the best of proto-house, cyber-boogie, internet breaks and anything that makes the circuit boards groove. With notable appearances last year on his own label Red Laser Records, alongside one of the best Boiler Room mixes and interviews in it’s history, only a matter of time before we got him down to RS.
Il Bosco & LNS are joined by RS PS1 menu music/synth-aficionado/breakbeat scientist Z Lovecraft.
