‘Tropical Bleu’ has all the hallmarks of Marshall’s woozy production coupled with Pinty’s instantly recognisable, laid-back flow gliding smoothly over wobbly, bendy beats.

It’s just a taster of things to come from the Peckham MC. Shifting genres with ease and swerving pigeon holes with finesse, Pinty’s sound takes influence from the introspective poetry of The Streets, the twisted late night moods of friend and collaborator King Krule and the jazz-inflected bounce of production partner Maxwell Owin.

With only one self-released EP under his belt, Peckham based Pinty has quickly become the talk of the town. This debut official single is a fresh, MC led approach to the dancefloor. The EP (forthcoming early 2019) traverses UKG, house, funk, Jazz and darker electronic sounds with ease. Given the fluid approach to genre and it’s grounding in Peckham’s vibrant musical scene, the EP feels right at home on Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section International imprint. Casually exploding onto the scene in 2015 with self- released ‘Midnight Moods’ mixtape, followed by Boiler Room and Just Jam performances, guest appearances on Glenn Astro and Jamie Isaacs tracks, and gracing the cover of the latest Peckham Peculiar, Pinty has risen to considerable prominence within the South London musical community.
Without even releasing a record, Peckham based DJ & MC Pinty has quickly become the talk of the town. ‘Tropical Bleu’, the lead single off debut EP ‘City Limits’, was produced by Archy Marshall - or King Krule - under his DJJDSPORTS alias. It boasts the hallmarks of Marshall’s woozy production coupled with Pinty’s MC-led approach to the dancefloor. ‘Tropical Bleu’ is a jazz-tinged broken beat roller which sees Pinty gliding effortlessly backwards into the rat race. Given the fluid approach to genre and it’s grounding in Peckham’s vibrant musical scene, Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section International is the rightful home for ‘City Limits’, which traverses hip hop, house, UKG, jazz and darker electronic sounds with ease. Pinty hosts a radio show on Balamii which until recently he shared with Cosmo Pyke and has supported Rejjie Snow on tour - rounding off an incredibly influential inner circle. Already a major pull in the capital, ‘City Limits’ marks Pinty’s graduation from local sensation to international proposition, as he prepares to fly the nest of the city that spawned him.
