Prequel’s DJ sets combine a love of Detroit House music, a keen crate diggers ear, a desire to challenge audiences and a genuine enthusiasm behind the decks. He wears his musical heart on his sleeve and strives to create a unique and memorable experience whenever and wherever he plays.
2014 saw the first official release of Prequel’s work on Bradley Zero’s (Boiler Room) Rhythm Section International imprint, the labels third release.
The Polite Strangers EP garnered attention and praise from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Osunlade, Lefto, Ben UFO and several other well-respected industry figureheads, both abroad and at home.
2015 has seen Prequel’s original work appearing on the Wondercore Island Mixtape #5, a contribution to a forthcoming compilation on new label Transfigured Time as well as a remix of Melbourne based outfit Tulalah on Equinox Recordings. He is also set to release a follow up EP to Polite Strangers as well as several other 12” releases.
