Wallace
After spending 5 years running club nights in Edinburgh, Wallace has since put all of his energy into his own musical journey. A unique left-field sound has stemmed from a unique upbringing, as he was exposed to music from around the world thanks to his parents who loved music and nature respectively. Wallace debuted on Studio Barnhus last year with his “Lemon Dreams” EP which received support from DJs including Palms Trax, Hunee, Logic1000, Radio Slave, Dixon & DJ Tennis. His next release on Disco Halal was a left-field, electronic interpretation of indie-dance & gathered plays from Yu Su, Optimo & Jimi Jules, to namea few.
Alongside his releases on Studio Barnhus & Disco Halal, Wallace’s label “Tartan Records” is going from strength to strength. Now onto its 4th release, the label is another outlet for Jimmy’s music & has a wide range of supporters from Ryan Elliott to Gilles Peterson. 2023 looks set to be a break through year for the artist with an EP on UK label Rhythm Section coming in April, remixes on Brownswood, a release on Moxie’s “On Loop” & two more records lined up on his Tartan imprint.
